When “Fine” Doesn’t Feel Fine Anymore

You’re allowed to want more than a marriage, or a life, that looks fine from the outside.

You’ve checked all the boxes. You’ve been the good wife, the good mom, the one who kept everything moving. You did what you were “supposed” to do and still, a question you can’t quite silence keeps surfacing:

Is this really as good as it gets?

If you’re questioning your marriage, moving through a divorce, or trying to recognize yourself on the other side, you’re in the right place.

You don’t need to have the rest of your life figured out today. But you do need a place where you can stop pretending, say the hard things out loud, and hear your own voice beneath everyone else’s opinions.

This is where you begin telling the truth about what you really want, trusting yourself again, and finding your next best step, whether that means creating a better marriage or building a life beyond it.

Because “fine” may be what you’ve learned to live with.

But it doesn’t have to be where your story ends.

Ready to Rebuild After Divorce

Divorce Coaching

This path is for the woman who’s done second-guessing her worth.
Done shrinking.
Done pretending.

And ready to choose herself.

If you’re navigating the quiet chaos of divorce, from the “should I stay?” spiral , the messy middle, to the “WTF now?” aftermath, I’m here to walk beside you.

Let’s make this next chapter your most powerful one yet.

Making the decision whether or not to leave your marriage is painful. Whether you need clarity in your decision, you already know what's best for you and you need confidence to take the step, or you're trying to put the pieces back together after a divorce, I've got you.

I have a master’s degree in Counseling and I am a Certified Life Coach, but most importantly, I’ve been where you are.

And I've helped other women over 40 feel supported as they navigate the complexities of a midlife divorce.

From the outside, your marriage may look perfectly fine. But inside, you know something has changed and you can’t keep pretending you don’t.

Maybe you’re questioning whether you can stay. Maybe you’ve already said “I want a divorce” and now you’re drowning in guilt, fear, and everyone else’s possible reactions. Or maybe you’ve left and are wondering who the hell you are now.

Wherever you are, this is a place where your truth gets a voice without anyone telling you what you should do. You don’t need to figure out your entire life today. You just need enough space to hear yourself again, and decide what feels right for you next.

My coaching is for women in this exact place.

Reading about divorce can only take you so far.

At some point, you need a real person who understands the guilt, the grief, the second-guessing, and how complicated it is to choose yourself when your decision affects everyone you love.

Whether you need one powerful conversation to steady yourself or ongoing support as you move through what comes next, you don’t have to keep carrying all of this alone.

ONE POWERFUL CONVERSATION: The 90-Minute Midlife Divorce Clarity Session

Meet Your Coach

Karen Shatafian

Divorce Coach + Life Coach for Women Over 40

I started coaching because I wanted to be the mentor I wish I had during one of the most trying periods of my life.

I’m currently building my dream life that I’ve manifested into reality, complete with 3 acres, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 10 chickens and the love of my life. But, it took me years to create this life I’m in love with. I had to unravel my own conditioning, complete with faulty patterns and habits, plus my own self doubt and limiting beliefs that kept me spinning my wheels.

I had to learn tools and get support so I could create a life that really turned me the f*ck on.

I had been letting my dreams, desires, passions and marriage, collect dust for years.

As a (recovering) people pleaser, I let the fear of what others might say or think keep me stuck in a marriage that had lost its aliveness.

My anxiety went into high gear and I felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest.

It took years to find my voice.

I lost so much time building the courage to say the hard thing out loud, “I think I want to leave my marriage.”

I don’t want that for you!

Divorce can make even the strongest woman question everything, what she wants, what she believes, whether she can trust herself, and what the hell she’s supposed to do next.

Drawing from my BA in Psychology, MS in Counseling, professional coaching tools, and my own lived experience of ending a 23-year marriage, I created The STAND Method to help women move through divorce without losing themselves in guilt and fear AND everyone else’s opinions and emotions.

Together, we focus on five essential areas:

Stabilize the emotional overwhelm so you can breathe and think again.

Tell the Truth about what you want, what isn’t working, and what you can no longer pretend is enough.

Amplify Your Own Voice so guilt, fear, and other people’s reactions stop making your decisions for you.

Navigate the Next Step without pressuring yourself to have the entire future figured out.

Design What Comes Next by rebuilding your identity and creating a life that feels like yours.

This isn’t a rigid, one-size-fits-all divorce formula. We begin with where you are, identify what’s keeping you stuck, and focus on the support you need now.

Because the goal isn’t to tell you whether to stay or leave.

It’s to help you love yourself while telling the truth and trust the woman making the decision.

I work with motivated women just like you that want to create their lives, not settle for them.

Whatever you decide, I am here to support you as you get clear, get confident, and get comfortable trusting yourself again.

Life is short. There are no guarantees.

The time to be happy is now.

Not sure what kind of support you need?

Still Standing is a free 30-minute conversation for women questioning their marriages, navigating divorce, or trying to find their footing afterward.

We’ll talk briefly about what you’re carrying, where you are in the process, and whether I may be the right person to support you. This is not a full coaching session, and you do not need to arrive with a decision.
